Children & Adolescents
The PWC offers psychoeducational assessments for children and adolescents to help you and your child better understand their academic difficulties, or to clarify or update a previously provided diagnosis. These assessments include an interview, an assessment of cognitive functioning, and an assessment of academic functioning. Based on the assessment results, we provide your family with recommendations for further treatment or supports for at home, school, or in the community.
We offer psychotherapy to children and adolescents who are seeking help for a variety of difficulties including, but not limited to, behavioural problems, anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders. Therapy methods provided by those at the PWC are evidence-based. Thus, services provided are of high quality and have been supported by scientific research as able to help with difficulties your child or adolescent may be having.
Please see our list of exclusions regarding which difficulties we are not able to provide assistance with at this time.
The length of the waiting list is dependent on the number of practicum students working at the PWC and the availability of supervisors. Following are estimates of our current wait times. This information will be updated as needed.
